Overview
  • The mine is located in the region of Cesar, in the northeast of Colombia, 2 kilometers away from the town of Caracoli. The mine is accessible from Caracoli through a paved road.

  • Caracoli is in the eastern valley of the Cesar River, about FO kilometers away from Valledupar, an important city in the north of Colombia with a population of 500.000+. Major national toll roads connect the region with other large cities inthe Caribbean cost like Barranquilla, Cartagena and Santa Marta.

  • The mine is -25 kilometers away from a rallroad used to transport coal to the Santa Marta Seapor.

The mine ís located close to two important seaports in the Caribbean cost of Colombia

The mine is 180 kilometers from the Santa Marta Seaport (3.25 hours by road)

The mine ís 220 kilometers from the Barranquilla Seaport (3.51 hours by road)

Copper concentrate will be transporied by land on trucks to the seaports

Required licenses and permits in Colombia

Concession Contract
  • A concession contract grants the right to carny out studies and exploration works to establish the existence of minerals and metals within a designated area. This contracts also allows performing all required installation and construction activities, to then exploit the metal or mineral.

  • Global Copper Mining has been granted the required copper mining concession (contract identifier No. LJJ-09471), which is effective from 04/02/2012 until 04/02/2042
Environmental Licenses
  • The Colombian govermment requires environmental licenses for all projects that may cause serious deterioration to renewable natural resources or the environment, or that introduce considerable or notorious modifications to the landscape. These licenses include all permits, authorizations and/or concessions for the use, exploitation andéor affectation of renewable natural resources that are affected or used throughout the project.

  • Currently, the mining project does not have the required environmental licenses. These licenses are being obtained as part of the activities performed during the exploration phase.
